Workshops for Homesteading and Cultivation Open to Mahopac Residents
Mahopac horticulture aficionados can visit the Westchester/NYC Bionutrient Food Association (BFA) for a thorough education about raising crops, soil health, and the steps necessary to cultivate nutritious produce on December 17. The meeting lasts from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. and takes place at the Westchester Land Trust on Harris Road in Bedford Hills. BFA chapter founder Doug DeCandia hosts this meeting.
Topics covered during this upcoming meeting include such end-of-season activities as:
- What to look for when testing soil, how to do it, when to do it, and why you should
- Properly covering crops
- Making amendments to soil on your property to help your crops thrive in the coming season
Members are encouraged to invite family and friends to meetings and other BFA events such as potlucks.
